| The HIV
Prevention Planning Council (HPPC) is the
group that guides HIV prevention in San Francisco,
along with the San Francisco Department of
Public Health (DPH). Members of the HPPC are
from local communities and government. They
reflect San Francisco's diverse population.
The HPPC is responsible for deciding which
populations are in greatest need of HIV prevention
services, as well as deciding what are the
best ways to meet those needs. The DPH, in
turn, is responsible for funding programs
and services that match the HPPC's decisions.
