About Us
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mandated HIV Prevention Community Planning in 1993 for agencies that it funded. Community planning was subsequently implemented by the Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) in 1994.

Who We Are

At any given time the Houston HIV Community Planning Group (HHPCPG) may consist of twenty to thirty members. Members include:
1. Representatives of affected populations,
2. Behavioral and social scientists,
3. Epidemiologists,
4. HIV/AIDS prevention service providers,
5. Health department staff, and
6. Other people responsible for analyzing the course of the epidemic in our area.
